Jackson Township Conscious Community

Hello! I’m Amy Kunkle, a mom, architect and permaculture designer. Today I want to share my design for the first (ever) conscious community. The framework for this community stems from Frank Lloyd Wright’s concepts for the Usonian house and Broadacre City and my approach to design and conscious living. The Jackson Township Conscious Community is a 55 acre development that is 100% crowd-funded by (future) community members. Here are some of the highlights of this community:

  • Roads with bike lanes, walking paths and nature surrounding and throughout entire community
  • Food production as part of HOA and CSA available for local area
  • 20 new “conscious” homes: energy efficient, passive solar homes with gray water systems, water harvesting and wind and solar power
  • Lake and wetland areas
  • Community Plaza and Farm Market
  • Food forests throughout (fruit + nut trees, herbs and berries)
  • Greenhouses
  • Community gardens and regenerative farming space
  • Farm and grazing areas for animals
  • Education center and housing

If you would like to join the community or would like more information, please contact Amy Kunkle at amykunkledesign@gmail.com
